The Technology Exchange and Collaboration Hub in Tokyo (TECH-Tokyo) is a Japanese independent entity dedicated to connecting the world’s top 10 universities with leading Japanese corporations. Our aim is to foster robust collaborations through licensing, partnerships, investment into university spinoffs, and sponsored research, as well as to facilitate academic exchange and executive education.
Bringing faculty, researchers, and entrepreneurs from some of the top 10 universities in the world, and Japanese corporations, entrepreneurs, investors, and universities, closer together. Exploring academic, partnering, and commercial opportunities through a multi-year program of presentations, lectures, workshops, networking, guest speakers, competitions and more.
Hold meetings, incubate startups, or offer lectures and presentations with simultaneous Japanese-English translation in Shibuya (Tokyo). Facilitate collaboration in real time with Japanese executives, and your faculty, entrepreneurs, and researchers using a full-size real-time video portal that we can provide for free to your university.
NO COST — NO OBLIGATION
All of these services are provided for free, at no obligation, to your University or Center. We want to be your partner in Japan, and help you commercialize your technology and research so it can benefit patients, users, and companies.
Activities
TECH-Tokyo is preparing a full calendar of activities, all year round, with speakers already confirmed from MIT, Stanford, Oxford University, Imperial College London, Cambridge University, and more.
EXECUTIVE EDUCATION
Offer paid sessions and programs to Japanese executives, request academic exchanges, give presentations, and more. In Tokyo or online. We provide the space and Japanese translator for free.
ENTREPRENEURSHIP & INNOVATION
We select and mentor top international entrepreneurs to present to Japanese corporates for partnerships, investment, and other opportunities. Select startups can even be incubated for free in our Shibuya space.
IP & LICENSING OPPORTUNITIES
We help match your IP portfolio to Japanese corporations' interest, and provide local presentation of your available IP in Japan, in Japanese.
RESEARCH COLLABORATION
We facilitate introductions to Japanese executives to your chosen researchers and labs for joint and sponsored research opportunities. Including fully funded Scientific Fellowship Exchange programs.
WHY
We believe that now, more than ever, it is critical for the world’s leading corporations and universities to unite, demonstrate resilience, and show solidarity in the face of the current political challenges and attacks on academic freedom. By coming together, we can strengthen our collective position and create a powerful, united front that supports academic innovation and entrepreneurship globally.
